Scarpa® UFO Sole

Carbon Grilamid LFT® Shell
Carbon Grilamid LFT® (Long Fiber Technology) infuses long strand carbon fibers into Grilamid® plastic, significantly increasing strength and stiffness. The result is reduced weight with increased power and torsional rigidity, providing an amazing blend of power and precision in a lightweight backcountry package.

Alien Cuff
The cuff is injected in Grilamid FG LFT®. This material is reinforced with long glass fiber. This creates products that have highest strength and stiffness values with a percentage parity compared to a short-fiber, suitable for lightweight applications. The long-fiber structure provides 20% to 30% higher stiffness. All long fiber reinforced polyamides exhibit higher notched impact strength values compared to normal compounds. Overlap construction guarantees perfect wrapping of the shin that maximizes the transmission of impulses to the skis. Along with the Speed Lock Lite system, it guarantees precision and maximum customization.

Speed Lock System Lite
By pairing a lightweight and durable Dyneema® cord with the A-Light Lever, this Speed Lock Lite System allows the cuff and shell to be locked or released in a single, quick movement.

Carbon Grilamid LFT®
The Carbon Grilamid LFT® is a polyamide reinforced with long carbon fibers that improve the elongation resistance properties and the rigidity of Grilamid®, without increasing its density when compared with the normal
short fibers. This allows reducing the thicknesses of the shell and cuff, thus obtaining a light product but at the same time very performing. Impact resistance and solicitations are improved, allowing to keep intact the performance of the boots over time.
